I have recently discovered that I am Lactose Intolerant. Being a fan of their Frappucino and their coffee for years, the recent turn of events has been a painful blow to me. I still however, indulge in it anyway despite the rants and ramblings of my uncooperative stomach. Either that or I go for a plain Americano instead.
Or.
I drink some more. I get really bad diarrhea attacks and I have lost a few pounds because of this. I might be able to actually use this to my advantage since most weight-loss pills practically do the same and I enjoy Starbucks immensely. I will post another article about it if I am successful. I am currently at 182 lbs.
This might just be the news all those overweight lactose intolerant people like me are waiting for.
Lose weight, enjoy a frapuccino!

Yet another vector for a friend. Again, the colors are raw. She might know a thing or two about photoshop so I will leave it at that. :p
I heard about this film festival last week from the lab and, being a fan of movies, I decided to watch. Haven’t really watched any movies in a proper movie house for the longest time so I thought it would be a good opportunity to immerse my eyes in some French.
Although subtitled, you can still feel whatever emotions they might feel. Language, in all its complex splendor can easily be understood (almost) by the delivery, tone, pace and pretty much everything else. I watched Un Secret and Flandres and enjoyed both of them. Later, I might watch Cabrule even though it has bee Rated R-18.
Un Secret was a bit dragging at first, giving me the impression that it was a psychological film, but all of that changed because of its rich plot and by its clever way story telling. It is the type of film you might want to watch two or three times because of certain little details that only make sense towards the end. Like Easter Eggs in movies. I can only remember one in particular; which was Korea’s My Sassy Girl. All in all, it left an impression at the end and I felt a tug in my heart.
Flandres felt like porn at the start. As soon as I entered the cinema with a friend; there was already some action taking place. It talked a lot about morals and personal discord. It took them to war where you could see the once carefree characters turn into soldiers. They killed and raped and got killed themselves. Save for the first male lead. The female lead seemed like a poor girl who was always being used. She had some psychological disorder which made her kick and scream… but I don’t think it had anything to do with her sexual preferences. I can’t really say that she was a slut though people in the film kept saying she was. It was a quiet film, devoid of any background music. You could hear them breathe all throughout.
You can check out the schedules here:
French Film Fest
Be sure to get your tickets at least two hours before it starts as the tickets normally run out easily.

I made a vector for a friend. I’ll fix it sometime with effects as the colors are still raw. I made it using ms paint. :p

I spent one very rainy afternoon at Market Market today. I was only really planning to buy a shirt and a pair of pants but it suddenly rained hard. The skies were gloomy and the wind was a bit chilly so I decided to keep warm at Starbucks.
Luckily, I brought along the sketchpad and decided to draw my heart out. I didn’t have enough time (or space) at home to draw, as certain moods and conditions were needed for me to draw.
After three hours and a Hazelnut Syrup Venti Americano, I finished it somehow. I intentionally left some places blank just in case someone wants me to add something to it. I was browsing around the users for the Laboratoryo for a few days now for some ideas on what to put in it. (and I know I have left out some of my favorite authors)
Too much caffeine and a chilly wind doesn’t help much on pencil details so I apologize in advance for some of the erratic scribbles on some corners of the piece. Hehe, I had enjoyed another afternoon doing what I like.
Life is beautiful.
